17.06.2004 As the celebrations to mark the 50th Anniversary of the Alfa Romeo Giulietta wind up to a conclusion this weekend we look forward to a future, worthy bearer of the glorious name

To mark the 50th anniversary of the Giulietta Sprint, Alfa Romeo has been organising a long series of events and exhibitions in conjunction with the Alfa Romeo Italian Registry and the Portello Stable. The aim: to revive the history of an extraordinary legend.

As the events, which have included race days at the Monza track, an exhibition entitled 'Giulietta e il suo tempo' at the Palazzo della Ragione in Milan and visits to the Museo Storico in Arese, designer James Granger, absorbs a fabulous models history and looks forward to a future, and rightful, bearer of the legendary Giulietta name.

The Alfa Giulietta concept expresses how Alfa Romeo could produce a small sports car worthy of this evocative tradition. The proposal would fit below the future 8C/8C Volante and Brera/Spider models and is based on the new Compact floorpan, which will also be used on the 148 and Kamal models. The Giulietta proposal would be offered below the GT Coupe as a more sporting and affordable alternative.
