Last Friday Maserati revealed the revised Model Year 05 Coupe and Spyder, and hot on the heels of this first glimpse, come the first photos of the two new models in the flesh.

The revised Coupe and Spyder will be available through the dealer network next month, and these changes will see the popular models through to their replacement later next year.

The main visual change is to the front bumper, which now features a new, larger radiator grille, finished with distinctive horizontally ribbed slats.

This new, more aggressive look, is inspired by the recent Quattroporte saloon. Maserati are seeking to embed a more distinct 'family' feel to the range and build towards the next Coupe and Spider which will very much draw their looks from their big 4-door brother.

The rear bumper, drawn from the GranSport is also new to the two models. It is much more purposeful looking and sportier, helping to give the range a slightly harder edge. It features wide air intakes shielded by a black, tight mesh grille.

The link with the Quattroporte is reinforced in the Coupe’ with the placing of the classic oval and arrow badge on the rear side panels, as styled by Frua in 1963. With the Year 05 model, the interior can be contrasted with different coloured leathers for the central zone of the seats and dashboard, and the upper door panels.

The instrumentation boasts new, sporty blue and white graphics that are easier to read. The seven spoke rims are now standard while the fifteen spoke rims remain an optional extra. The aluminium coloured kit on the console and the door moulding will now be standard.

Other modifications have been made to the interior with the central tunnel redesigned with a bigger storage compartment. The lever for inserting the reverse gear now has a D for Drive option, for selecting first gear. To complete the changes, the Coupe’ and Spyder models now have a new extra metallic paint finish with the addition of “Rame Ghibli”.
