28.07.2004 At the Paris Motor Show on 23rd September, Pininfarina will present three new projects, Nido, Double-Face AND, the niche production vehicle, Enjoy

On the Paris International Motor Show on Thursday September 23 at 2.30 pm, a press conference held by Pininfarina will present three projects.

They represent three laboratories of ideas to serve the customer, developed with the active, synergic participation of all the Group’s areas of activity (Design, Engineering, Manufacturing) and with the collaboration of international partners.

NIDO: research in the field of safety

The Nido project is based on the study, design and prototyping of new solutions that involve structural aspects and the design of a small 2-seater car.

The goal of the project is to of increase both internal safety, which affects the occupants directly, and external safety, designed to limit any damage to pedestrians in the event of a collision.

DOUBLE-FACE: innovative technologies and processes

The Double-Face project, is one that Pininfarina has been working on jointly with Matra Automobile Engineering.

It started from a hypothesis: the possibility of developing two cars for a multi-brand manufacturer, one in sheet metal, and the other in composite material, as distant as possible in stylistic terms, but with common technical features so as to reduce the impact of tooling costs on niche volumes.

ENJOY: niche production

The first car with the Pininfarina trademark will be the result of the collaboration with Louis Vuitton.

Following a tour in Europe and Asia to weigh the interest of collectors and enthusiasts, Enjoy will be manufactured and sold in only 75 units during 2005 to celebrate the Company’s 75th anniversary.

The interior has been designed by Louis Vuitton, the 192bhp engine by Lotus Performance, while Bang&Olufsen provide the sound system.
