10.01.2004 STUNNING DISPLAY OF PAST AND PRESENT FERRARIS DRAWS THE CROWDS AT THE AUTOSPORT SHOW

Ferrari F40 in the 'Galleria Ferrari'

An exotic array of Ferrari cars, worth in excess of £25million, are currently on display at the Autosport International, courtesy of Galleria Ferrari, the Official Ferrari Museum from Maranello. The line-up of Ferraris tells the history of the company right to the present day, and celebrate the fact that they have raced continuously since 1947.

The exhibition is the centrepiece of the show. Set in its own enclosed area, visitors take a winding path through the display which is simply and crisply laid out, allowing all attention to be focused on the cars.

The first three days of show, regarded as the world premiere race car exhibition, has seen a solid stream of visitors weave their way through the exhibits, slowly taking in so much key parts Ferrari's rich history within one area.

Michael Schumacher's F1 World Championship cars from 1999, 2000, 2001 and 2002 are the stars here. Other racers include the 250 GTO, a stunning car created by a team led by Giotto Bizzarrini, an example that summed up the Ferrari philosophy with the highest levels of performance and styling. It was driven, among others, by Graham Hill to numerous victories.

Also on display is the F50 created to celebrate Ferrari's 50th anniversary in 1995, the closest thing to a road going Formula One car the company had ever built. The 4.7-litre engine was derived directly from the Formula One unit used on the 1989 F1-89. Turning the clock back a decade you can see the F40, built to celebrate their 40th anniversary.

The brand new 360 GTC is on display, a racer derived from the Challenge car to be used in the FIA GT series N-GT class, with production limited to just 30 cars. Unveiled at the Paris Show in 2000 was the 550 Barchetta Pininfarina built to commemorate the 70th anniversary of Ferrari's coachbuilder and stylist, Pininfarina. A strictly limited edition of just 448 numbered cars were built.

But it doesn't end there. This line-up also includes the current ultimate road Ferrari, the Enzo, plus the award winning Challenge Stradale, GTO, 365 GTB 4, 575GTC and 575 M.
