Sydney International Motor Show, Australia

10.10.2005 Three Italian thoroughbreds never seen in Australia before were glimpsed when the wraps came off the Ferrari Superamerica, the Alfa Romeo Brera and the Maserati Quattroporte ahead of the Sydney Motor Show

Visitors to Darling Habour have had a sneak preview of three unique Italian thoroughbreds never seen in Australia before when the wraps came off the Ferrari Superamerica, the Alfa Romeo Brera and the Maserati Quattroporte prior to the Australian International Motor Show opening its doors to the public on Friday 14 October 2005.

Crowds surrounded the 320 kmh V12 powered Ferrari Superamerica as its remarkable roof not only folded back but also, at the touch of button darkened, proving that in a Ferrari its even possible to turn down the sun when it gets too hot! Only six of what must be the ultimate convertible car
are coming to Australia, so the Australian International Motor Show will be one of the few opportunities to see this rarest of rare cars. The Alfa Romeo Brera, described as the Angelina Jolie of cars, thanks to its sexual appeal also drew envious glances as it touched Australian soil for the first time since its launch in Europe earlier this year.  This new range topping Alfa Romeo will arrive in Australia in the middle of next year and demand is already threatening to exceed supply! The Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT has been built specifically for the Australian International Motor Show and is, quite literally unique, as right hand drive production of this super-saloon does not start until the middle of next year.

The luxuriously appointed interior of the Quattroporte Sport GT brought gasps of admiration from onlookers, especially when the surround sound-equipped DVD player in the rear of its leather and carbon fibre lined interior was then demonstrated!

All three of these highly sporty Italian thoroughbreds are now firmly back in their stables and they will not be seen again until the Australian International Motor Show opens its doors to the public in Sydney this coming Friday, the 14th October.
