27.07.2006 ALFA 147 SET TO RECEIVE "MY2007" MAKEOVER

Two years after receiving its midlife facelift, the Alfa 147 has acquired yet more changes to its exterior and interior design, as well as comprehensive modifications to its structure. The "Model Year 2007" Alfa 147 will be offered from the autumn with new accessories, colours and materials. The new model was revealed last week at a dealer presentation held at Alfa Romeo’s Balocco test centre, and presented alongside the revised Alfa GT Coupé.

Changes to the interior on new Alfa 147 are rumoured to include new sports and luxury material trims; themes which will also be continued on the outside with specific alloy wheels and paint schemes.

Frontal changes to the Alfa 147 MY2007 include a new grille and chrome “whiskers” positioned in the air intake sections. The chrome sections rekindle the attractive quality of the Alfa 147’s original design, which was somewhat lost on the second generation model.
 

The current Alfa 147 version (above) was introduced two years ago. The mild facelift will represent its final renewal before a replacement appears in late 2007 or early 2008.

The Alfa GT has also inherited similar subtle frontal styling changes. It is also believed that the GT will receive new rear optical units with clear lenses, similar to the Alfa 159 and Brera, as well as a revised interior.

The MY2007 Alfa 147 represents its final renewal before a replacement appears in late 2007 or early 2008. The reworked Alfa 147 will cost slightly more than the second generation model, however it will still remain highly competitive. With the arrival of the third generation Alfa 147, Both the revised Alfa 147 and Alfa GT will be presented at the Paris Motor Show in September alongside the final production version of the Alfa 8C Competizione.
