The awards are available at a new dedicated microsite: http://www.italianawards.com

It has been another particularly exciting year for Italian carmakers right across the spectrum, with many superb, innovative and truly breathtaking new cars being launched. All the major Italian automotive brands – Fiat, Alfa Romeo, Lancia, Maserati, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Iveco and Fiat LCV – have posted excellent results with both sales and turnover up, in several cases to record highs. The famous Italian design houses, such as Bertone, Italdesign, Pininfarina and Zagato have been also rejuvenated, hitting the headlines all year with stunning new projects. Meanwhile, many Italian sporting successes can be found in abundance across a swage of international disciplines, from single-seaters to rallying; from racetracks to special stages. And industry heavy weight executives such as Sergio Marchionne and Luca di Montezemolo continued to punch above their weight with impressive results.

A new era for the Italian automotive industry is being ushered in, with an accompanying renewed excitement. There is a revitalised atmosphere in the air, and with 2007 promising even greater things, Interfuture Media and Mangoletsi are pleased to launch the Italiaspeed Italian Automotive Awards 2006, in order to amply celebrate and commemorate the many highpoints of this remarkable year.
