					The Maserati
MC12 claimed a double victory during the second round of the
2006 Italian GT Championship held at Misano last weekend
with the Playteam and Racing Box teams claiming a win apiece
					in the two one-hour races.

Two of the V12-engined GT1-class Maserati MC12 sportscars,
which won last year's FIA GT Championship Manufacturers' and
					Teams' titles are
taking part in the Italian GT series this year, one bearing the
colours of Scuderia Playteam Sara Free and the other entered
by Racing Box. The crew of the first car comprises of
Gianbattista Giannoccaro and Toni Vilander, while the second
MC12 is being pedalled by former FIA GT winner Luca Cappellari and Miguel Ramos.

After chalking up one win during the double-header opening
round of the Italian GT series series at Imola on 26th
March, the MC12s had it all their own way during round two
held at Misano last weekend. Vilander and Giannoccaro (Playteam
SaraFree) were the duo to come out on top in the first race
ahead to a trio of Ferrari F430s driven by Zardo/Caffi and
Pasini/Bobbi and Cadei/Maceratesi, while Luca Cappellari and
Miguel Ramos (Racing Box) retired. However the latter pair
bounced back in style to comfortably lead out a Maserati 1-2
finish in race two ahead of the Playteam entry.
