ALFA GT

Defying forecasts that predicted poor weather conditions, one hundred and seventy Alfa Romeos gathered during AlfaAmore’s latest event which was held in Kaposújlak, Hungary at an old airport.

One hundred and seventy cars gathered during AlfaAmore’s latest event in Kaposújlak, Hungary at an old airport. The event’s forum at AlfaAmore.com was full of panicky posts just before the event due to the weather. "It will rain, we will be cold! Bring some mulled wine!" – these were the determining voices. Every day started with the latest weather forecast which said, it will be raining in Sunday. Than we arrived at Kaposújlak on Sunday morning and the sun was shining, and so we had an excellent event.

Fortunately most of our members, who signed up to the event in advance didn’t believe to the weatherman, so from the 197 members who signed up, 170 came and had a very nice day. Despite of the relative big headcount, this event remained the same as it was 5 years ago. A shirt-sleeved, relaxed event with a slalom contest, cook-out and free pursuit race without professional timing and measuring. That’s why it is so popular, we can say, this is the second most popular event in Hungary organised by the Alfa Amore.

Last year we set an “Alfa Amore” title from the cars, but unfortunately this year we had to go without it, but as a compensation the paratroopers made a show for us. Of course we prepared our cars for the beauty contest also, as we do every year. This year a beautiful brown, restored Alfasud won this contest. And after the event most of the event's participants travelled to the closest city, Kaposvár to watch the Formula-1 Brazilian Grand Prix and celebrate Kimi Raikkonen's podium finish and world championship title.

Meanwhile, t
he successfully operating and continuously growing Hungarian online community is now available in English. Its goal is to reach Alfa Romeo enthusiasts' all over the world with the help of the contents and web2 services. Alfa Amore was developed by the hungarian Alfa fans. Their job isn’t simple. In Hungary people have mixed feelings about the Alfa Romeo brand. In general everybody likes the designs, but only a few buy one. Maybe this has caused the togetherness of enthusiasts in Hungary which is unprecedented. They greet each other on the roads, organising lots of events, and try to help each other as they can. This medium was perfect for developers to develop Alfa Amore and the subjunctive events.

AlfaCity is the biggest event held every year. We’re very proud to this event, because last year we organised the biggest hungarian motoring event in spite of the fact that the Alfa Romeo is a rare model on the roads here. Last year more than 550 cars gathered in this all day event arm in arm with all Hungarian Alfa Romeo dealers.
