PININFARINA

12.01.2007 SILVIO ANGORI IS APPOINTED CHIEF OPERATING OFFICER OF PININFARINA

As part of the significant reorganisation which started at Pininfarina during the last quarter of 2006 and according to the new assignments already given in the areas of engineering, manufacturing, logistics and quality, Mr. Silvio Angori has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Pininfarina S.p.A., the position being effective from January 1st, 2007. He will report directly to the Chairman and CEO Andrea Pininfarina.

Silvio Angori, who is 45 years old, graduated with a degree in Physics from Università degli Studi di Roma “La Sapienza” and gained a Master in Business Administration from the Graduate School of Business of University of Chicago. He began his career as a senior researcher accountable for all product development and engineering activities, first with Augusta Helicopters S.p.A. and then with Fiat Research Centre.

Since 1994 he has worked for Arvin Meritor Inc., where he has progressively increased his responsibilities to become Managing Director in 1999, responsible of the Business Unit for Fiat Worldwide and General Motors Europe. He subsequently was in charge of the start-up of the World Wide Commercial Vehicle Exhaust Business Unit, organising - as General Manager - all business and operational processes. The business developed a significant turnover.

Meanwhile the eagerly awaited automatic version of the Maserati Quattroporte luxury sedan has been presented in public for the first time earlier this week, on the occasion of the North American International Auto Show, being held in Detroit. The Quattroporte is a Pininfarina design - and it is one that they are justifiably proud of. “With the Quattroporte project, displayed for the first time at the 2003 Frankfurt Motor Show, Pininfarina succeeded to create a car that is at the same time sporty, elegant and clearly Italian, but above all immediately recognisable as a Maserati. I am extremely proud that this new version of the Quattroporte makes its debut in the significant United States market.” declared Andrea Pininfarina, Chairman and CEO Pininfarina S.p.A. this week. “Moreover, I like to remember that in 2005 a further result of the collaboration between Maserati and Pininfarina was the Maserati Birdcage 75th prototype, that met with a new great success at the recent Beijing Motor Show.” he concluded.
