26.05.2007 team Modena test its new Lamborghini Gallardo gt3 ahead of its British GT debut

Team Modena tested its brand-new Lamborghini Gallardo GT3 race-car at Snetterton, Norfolk, last Wednesday (May 23rd) in preparation for its debut race in the third event in the Avon Tyres British GT Championship calendar on June 3rd at the circuit. Once typical 'new car' problems had been resolved at the shake-down test, the team were immediately able to demonstrate the pace of the Lamborghini - the first Gallardo to race in the championship.

"The car is brand-new, so we had a few early teething troubles, but after that it ran perfectly," said Team Principal Graham Schultz. "Jos Menten drove it first as he has experience of racing Lamborghinis, and then we had Antonio Garcia do five or six laps, and by then we were looking really quick. Matt Owen finished off our running and will be racing the car this season alongside one of our other drivers, and even though he was in a GT car for the first time he was getting quicker lap by lap. We are all very positive for the first race at Snetterton." The cars will be run from the Lamborghini Wycombe workshops overseen by Team Principal Graham Schultz.
