AUTODELTA 159 J4 2.2 C

The Autodelta J4 2.2 C is its most recent bespoke model, launched in June after 18 months of intensive research and development; and with the J4 2.2 C, Autodelta believes it raised the bar even further in every field and created its finest project to date.

Autodelta, the leading global aftermarket Alfa Romeo design and tuning house, and its Official Agent for the Netherlands, Sam van Lingen, are pleased to announce their participation in the popular, televised track event, Autovisie Time Attack, which takes place this coming Sunday (12th October) at the TT Circuit Assen.

Time Attack has quickly grown into a significant event for high performance road and race cars on the busy Dutch automotive calendar. Featuring a plethora of sports cars in factory production specification running alongside offerings from Europe’s leading tuning houses and dedicated racing cars, the frenetic action is split into four main categories (Semi Pro Street, Pro Street, Non Pro Street & Small Factory). All the leading performance brands are very well represented, and sports cars set to take on the challenge on Sunday include such as the Nissan Skyline R34, Chevrolet Corvette Z06, Audi R8, Porsche 911 GT3, Subaru Impreza WRX, Lotus Exige, Mitsubishi Evo, Donkervoort D8, Aerial Atom and Chrysler Viper. Organised by leading Dutch automobile magazine Autovisie, Time Attack, which attracts attention from the media and enthusiasts alike, is also televised nationally.

The technically-demanding TT Circuit Assen, located at Assen in the Netherlands, is the perfect venue to host this special event. The tight and twisty 4.55 km, 16 turn circuit is most famously home to the Dutch round of the MotoGP World Championship, and the existing track, first opened in 1955, is always a big draw with the fans. Substantial improvements were made to the circuit in 2006 before the glamorous arrival of the premier American single-seater series, ChampCar, last year.

Autodelta has always believed that the Alfa Romeo brand can firmly mix it with the best; the fastest and most powerful cars can always be challenged, the historic Italian automaker having long since earned the right to its place amongst the most sporting of cars in the world, and so, in conjunction with our enthusiastic Official Agent for the Netherlands, Sam van Lingen, we are delighted to accept an invitation to take part in this autumn’s edition of Time Attack.

Autodelta will be present with two cars for Sunday’s extravaganza, the Autodelta J4 2.2 C alongside a special-version of the Autodelta 147 GTA AM 3.7 Super. The Autodelta J4 2.2 C is its most recent bespoke model, launched in June after 18 months of intensive research and development; and with the J4 2.2 C, Autodelta believes it raised the bar even further in every field and created its finest project to date. The car features an integrated supercharging system that pushes the horsepower up to 245 bhp and peak torque to 290 Nm; all areas of the sports sedan have been reworked, from the engine and transmission, to the chassis, exhaust, suspension, braking, electronics and aerodynamics. The result though is not raw power, but a smooth, effortless and luxurious high performance ‘Gran Tourer’ crafted in the finest of traditions.

However, pushing the dynamic envelope of Alfa Romeo’s to the very edge to create sports cars that thrill and challenge the driver is Autodelta's deep seated motivation; the search for that very last useable horsepower makes our engineers tick. At Circuit Assen TT Autodelta will also demonstrate its latest ‘evolution’ of the ‘Arese 3.2 V6’ package, combined with the Alfa 147 GTA. Enlarged to 3.7-litres and supercharged under our core production programme, this unique Alfa 147 boasts 440 bhp; and, on top of the standard 147 GTA AM 3.7 Super package, it features revised camshafts and inlet system, re-rated suspension and Autodelta's new-generation, even tougher, Limited Slip Differential. Although in effect a ‘mobile laboratory’ the car’s inherent driveability and practicality remains undiminished.

Jano Djelalian, Managing Director, Autodelta, says: “We’re delighted to be invited to take part in Time Attack, from all accounts it seems an exciting event, and we want to pitch our products with the best on the roads as we firmly believe in the ultimate performance of the Alfa Romeo brand. The Netherlands has rapidly grown in importance for us over the last year since Sam van Lingen became our Official Agent and I must say how delighted I am with the job they have done. They bring huge passion and a deep desire to promote the virtues of the brand, which is fundamental. Their engineering ability and knowledge of tuning means that they have integrated into our methodology really well and I’m reassured the Autodelta brand is in safe hands, and has a very strong future, in the Netherlands.”

Willem Meijdam, Area Manager, Sam van Lingen Haarlem, and responsible for Autodelta, says: “Flying the Italian flag high at Time Attack is a great honour for us, and to have Autodelta’s name here this year, in conjunction with the Savali brand, completes the picture. Sam van Lingen prides itself on a long history of tuning Alfa Romeos and the strength and depth of Autodelta’s products has galvanised our efforts. We have been working with Autodelta for two years now and our customers have been impressed by their products, this has been born out by rapidly growing demand; we plan to ensure the Autodelta name spreads to all corners of the Netherlands. We are looking forward to Time Attack, Assen is a superb circuit, and we will have several Autodelta demo cars on display, and of course the beautiful Alfa 8C Competizione.”

The Autovisie Time Attack track action gets underway early at 8:00 AM on Sunday October 12th and will run through without interruption until 5:30 PM. Autodelta and Sam Van Lingen will also present several display cars for inspection including the production Alfa Brera 3.2 Supercharged, as well as the Alfa 8C Competizione and Alfa MiTo, Alfa Romeo two brightest new stars, and cars that are now in the hands of our development engineering team. Autodelta and Sam Van Lingen staff will be on hand all day to answer queries; we look forward to seeing you.
