FERRARI - 2008 BRITISH MOTOR SHOW, LONDON

Ferrari is showcasing its bespoke personality with a diverse array of exotic and individually-tailored Ferrari cars on display in the Ultimate Collection and the Ultimate Collection Public Gallery at the British Motor Show this year, which is taking place at ExCeL in London Docklands until 03 August. With unique examples of the 430 Scuderia, 599 GTB Fiorano and 612 Scaglietti on display, there is a Ferrari to please every fan of the Prancing Horse.

The 430 Scuderia is Ferrari’s latest high-performance mid-engined V8 car, with an incredible 510hp from a naturally-aspirated 4.3 litre engine, and several weight-saving initiatives which reduce the weight of the car by 100kg over the F430 Coupe. The 430 Scuderia is the first Ferrari to combine the dynamic advantages of the Electronic Differential of the F430 Coupe with the F1-Trac traction control system which made its debut on the 599 GTB Fiorano in 2006. The car also features several aerodynamic innovations, such as the patented “base bleed” which was developed by the FXX team and makes a significant contribution to the car’s overall dynamic and aerodynamic capabilities.

Ferrari’s V12 range is represented by the acclaimed 599 GTB Fiorano – voted EVO’s “Car of the Year” and the only GT car granted a 5-star status by Autocar, in addition to a host of other similar awards from the international media. The 599 GTB Fiorano has a development of the iconic Enzo’s 6.0 litre V12 engine, and generates an earth-spinning 620hp which propels the car to 60mph in only 3.7 seconds, while still retaining the comfort and exclusivity of this flagship performance two seater that carries on the tradition started with the similarly iconic 550 Maranello and 575M.

The third model on display is the Ferrari 612 Scaglietti which is a full four-seat Ferrari and represents the pinnacle of Ferrari’s innovation and technology in a Grand Tourer. The 612 Scaglietti now features a twin-plate clutch for smoother driveability and enhanced performance, the Superfast software from the 599 GTB Fiorano for even quicker gearshifting times, and a unique electrochromic panoramic glass roof which enhances the perception of interior space and makes the flagship Ferrari a truly spectacular place to spend time.

This particular example of Ferrari’s flagship four-seater demonstrates the range of personalisation options available to Ferrari clients through the new Atelier service, including a special Iroko leather interior and a bespoke 6-piece luggage set in matching Iroko leather, specially tailored to fit the car’s capacious 240 litre luggage compartment. The Iroko leather has also been selected for the upper parts of the dashboard, the rear shelf and the steering wheel, all carefully designed to complement the Daytona style seats which feature a special leather treatment to produce a different grain. The Atelier also provides Clients with the chance to select personal touches such as Gun Metal Grey safety belts, chromium front grille and even the trademark Ferrari Prancing Horse which is stitched into the headrests of the car in silver stitching.

612 Scaglietti – Atelier service

The interior of the 612 Scaglietti in the Ultimate Collection also features a special leather option, Iroko, from Ferrari’s new Atelier service which is dedicated to customers of Ferrari’s flagship 4-seater. With a bespoke tailoring service available through a recently completed and exclusive facility in the heart of the Ferrari factory in Maranello, the Atelier programme provides Ferrari clients with the opportunity to choose from a range of personalisation options available, working closely with a dedicated Product Manager who will ensure each client is able to create their own personal and unique Ferrari.

Ferrari GB Network Developments

Ferrari GB is also pleased to announce three new developments in the Ferrari UK Dealer Network, with a new sales and service outlet in Birmingham, a new service outlet in London and a revamped dealership with Ferrari Store in Colchester. Nick Whale Sports Cars Ltd in Bromsgrove will be representing the Ferrari brand in the West Midlands from Monday 04 August. The company is currently in the early stages of a development programme that will see brand new dealership facilities opening in Solihull in late 2009, with dedicated sales and aftersales facilities, as well as a Ferrari Dealer Selection outlet on site.

HR Owen Sports Cars, now operating from two sites in Kensington and St Albans, has recently opened a new £1.75 million aftersales facility near Wembley with 21 service bays, including a high-tech inspection bay and a four-wheel alignment ramp, which means that Ferrari clients in the West London area will have better access to a Ferrari aftersales centre.

Lancaster Colchester has recently undergone a major £500,000 redevelopment of their existing Ferrari showroom, with a large extension which has now doubled the size of the Ferrari facilities and will include a Ferrari Dealer Selection outlet, a private Carrozzeria Scaglietti Personalisation room for customers to specify their new cars, and a dedicated customer handover room.
