New Zealand’s premier national business and financial publication, the National Business Review, has presented the Maserati GranCabrio with the award of Sports Car of the Year in its annual awards for automotive excellence.

Praised for its combination of design, technology, practicality and driving pleasure, the judges said in their final summing up that the Maserati GranCabrio “takes Italian design and engineering to new heights.” The Maserati GranCabrio is commended for the absence of scuttle shake and presence of “a real rear seat and enough legroom for two adults to sit in comfort” as well as for its “sonorous” 4.7 litre V8 engine all of which combine to produce “a truly gratifying sports car.”

“We are honoured to be able to accept this award on behalf of the Maserati engineers and designers who have produced such a wonderful sports car,” says Glen Sealey, General Manager of Maserati in Australia and New Zealand. “The Maserati GranCabrio has already joined the ranks of Maserati’s many classic cars and the award presented by the National Business Review is further proof of this achievement.”
