With its current fondness for sticker-only limited editions, the Fiat brand will show off a special new 500 version at the Bologna Motor Show: the 500 Nation will kick off a run of models that celebrate the many countries around the globe where the supermini is on sale. A run of 500 numbered units will be made for the saloon version and another 500 examples for the convertible version.

The new Fiat 500 Nation Limited Edition series will kick off with a version featuring the "Stars & Stripes" to commemorate the car's arrival this year in the United States. It is however somewhat ironic that Fiat has chosen to emphasise this market first seeing as the 500's debut has been a very public disaster in almost every aspect and its most recent association with actress and singer Jennifer Lopez has received widespread media ridicule.

In the saloon version, the 500 Nation America Limited Edition will be offered in an exclusive metallic shade dubbed 'America Blue' and it will be further distinguished by mirror fairings with 'Stars & Stripes' graphics, stickers, dedicated beltline and 16" alloy wheels with red cap edge. American themes will also be found in the interior with red/ivory seats and contrasting white dashboard.

The white three-layer paint and the 'Stars & Stripes' mirror fairings will be combined with the red top and the graphics in the colours of the American flag in the beltline in the case of the convertible version. In this case the 16" alloy wheels will be finished with a blue rim edge.

The 500 Nation will be equipped as standard with manual air conditioning and will also cosmetically add the 500's exterior chrome-finish option kit for both the saloon and convertible versions. Lastly, a badge on the pillar bearing the serial number of this limited edition will make it feel more unique.

After its première in Bologna next month, the new 500 Nation America Limited Edition will be able to be ordered on the Italian market starting from late February 2012 at an approximate price of 14,500 euros for the saloon version and 18,000 euros for the convertible.
