Lamborghini has produced a uniquely customised version of it's Huracán sportscar that it has donated to Pope Francis and it will be auctioned next May by RM Sotherby's for the benefit of several papal charities.

Lamborghini has produced a unique version of it's Huracán sportscar that it has donated to His Holiness Pope Francis in the presence of the company’s top executives.

The special one off Huracán, based on the rear wheel drive version, will now be auctioned by RM Sotheby’s, on 12 May, with all the proceeds being delivered directly to the Holy Father, who has decided to allocate them to the Pontifical Foundation 'Aiuto alla Chiesa che Soffre' (Aid to the Church in Need), the Pope John XXIII Community, GICAM headed by Dr. Marco Lanzetta (a hand surgeon) and 'Amici per il Centrafrica' (Friends of Central Africa).

The Huracán RWD donated to the Pope was produced by 'Ad Personam', the Italian sportscar maker's in house customisation department.

The body is finished Bianco Monocerus (white) and complimented by a series of Giallo Tiberino (yellow) stripes that run horizontally along the upper and lower sections of the doors, along the outer roof edges above the doors, up the middle of bonnet, across the roof and down the engine cover and along two edges of the prominent front bumper air intakes. The unique decal treatment is also applied to the door mirrors. The yellow hue was chosen in homage to the colors of the flag of Vatican City. Finaly, during the handover, Pope Francis autographed the front bonnet.
