The 4C Coupé Competizione (top and middle) special edition aims to convey a more sportier personality than the standard model, with racing connotations, while the Spider Italia (bottom) version seeks to offer a more elegant and refined character.

Alfa Romeo are presenting special series models across its key range in Geneva and the 4C isn’t missing out on this trim treatment with two limited production versions, the Coupé “Competizione" and a Spider "Italia", with just 108 units of each to be built, are set to make their debuts.

The 4C Coupé Competizione special edition aims to convey a more sportier personality than the standard model, with racing connotations, while the Spider Italia version seeks to offer a more elegant and refined character.

The two series, both which will come as limited editions, offer unique styling features.

The matte Vesuvio Grey of the Coupé is combined with an optional livery designed especially for this configuration. This comprises a full length overbody stripe, black with red pipping that includes the Italian flag flashes, along the bonnet and roof. The bonnet stripe also incorporates a large Alfa Romeo 'serpent'.

As well as the body shell, additional carbon details include the roof, rear spoiler, mirror caps, side air vents and headlight moulding. The styling is completed by the body-colour front bumper with air vent, the dark-finish five-spoke wheels (18" at the front and 19" at the back), the red brake callipers and the Akrapovic titanium central tailpipe with dual mode and carbon in the trim.

The racing theme continues inside the cockpit: the seats are leather and microfibre with red stitching, as is the racing steering wheel, while the exclusive status of the limited series of just 108 cars is underlined by the individually numbered badge on the central tunnel and the aluminium "Competizione" plaque on the dashboard.

The Spider "Italia" special series is identified by the use of Misano Blue bodywork, exclusive to the 108 cars in this version. On the outside, features include the asymmetric five-spoke wheels, 18" at the front and 19" at the rear, and the yellow brake callipers that match the stitching on the seats, dashboard, steering wheel and door panels.

The three quarter side panel displays a special "Spider Italia" decal with the model name written in script immediately above a narrow stripe in three colours of the Italian flag.

The 4C Spider Italia's standard outfit includes Akrapovic titanium central twin tailpipes with dual mode function and carbon trim.

The equipment on the open topper is completed by an Alpine Hi-Fi system, with subwoofer, an individually numbered badge on the central tunnel and an aluminium "Italia" dashboard plaque.

Under the bonnet the 4C Coupé Competizione" and 4C Spider Italia and both powered by the standard 240 hp 1750 Turbo petrol engine, with intercooler and continuous twin phase variators. Combined with the TCT automatic transmission, it delivers a power-to-weight ratio of less than 4 kg/hp, top speed of 258 km/h (257 km/h for the 4C Spider), 0 to 100 km/h in 4.5 seconds, lateral acceleration of 1.1 g and maximum braking deceleration of 1.25 g.

This performance is aided by the use of lightweight materials, including carbon fibre for the shell, aluminium for the front and rear subframes and SMC (low density compound) for the bodywork.
