Fiat Chrysler Automóveis (FCA) has just inaugurated a stylish new regional office in Santiago, Chile, with the key objective of further expanding and growing its operations across Latin America.

Excluding Brazil, Argentina and Mexico, the regional market represents a demand in excess of 1.1 million cars per year.

The new regional office, located in the neighbourhood of Vitacura, a modern area of the city, brings together a multifunctional team from Sales, Marketing, Aftersales/Mopar, Network Development, Brands and Supply Chain.

FCA ended last year with a 3% share of the new vehicle market in this region and the carmaker's ambitious target is to reach a 5% share, almost double, as early as the end of this year.

"Our team is totally dedicated to the advancement of our brands in the region,” said Nicholas Parkes, Director of Commercial Operations for Latin America.” With this [new regional office] and the consolidation of regional distribution, we will be even closer to the key Latin American markets that are so diverse and require a broad knowledge of each culture and consumer habit to meet the demands of consumers.

“In addition,” Parkes added, “we will have not only a complete structure to serve importers but also more integration with our distributors.”

Recently, FCA announced its strategy for the region which is focused on updating the Ram product range so it represents the most complete light commercial model portfolio in Latin America.

In addition to this, it has launched the Jeep Renegade and Compass and the Fiat Mobi, Argo, Cronos and Toro, across the Latin American markets which has modernised its model portfolio.

During 2018 the new Jeep Wrangler, the new Cherokee and the Fiat Tipo will all be rolled out across these regional markets.

"We have repositioned the Fiat, Jeep and Ram brands in Latin America, each one in a specialist product segment, seeking to confer more identity and visibility to each one,” says Antonio Filosa, president of FCA Latin America.

“We are advancing and reaping the fruits of the strategy of increasing our presence in the region," he continued. "Thus, we will increasingly raise our importance within FCA's business in Latin America.”
