TIn total Alfa Romeo saw its sales come in at 2,249 units for June which equated to a 121% rise thanks to the impact of the Stelvio which was just about to go on sale in the US this time last year and with 1,231 units sold during June has now evolved into the brand's best seller.

It was another mixed month for Fiat Chrysler Automobiles' (FCA) two Italian brands on the US market during June as while Alfa Romeo comfortably saw sales more than doubling year-on-year Fiat however lost more than one third of its sales.

In total Alfa Romeo saw its sales come in at 2,249 units for June which equated to a 121% rise thanks to the impact of the Stelvio which was just about to go on sale in the US this time last year and with 1,231 units sold during June has now evolved into the brand's best seller.

The Giulia made up the bulk of the rest of Alfa Romeo’s US sales during June as it added 979 units which was almost flat on last year, down just 13 units.

The 4C provided the remainder and it's surprisingly high total of 39-unit sales was the best month the sports car has enjoyed this year and was up 70% on its sales during June last year.

After the first half of the year Alfa Romeo is on 12,265 sales, which represents nearly two and a half times the total it shifted during the first six months of last year when it sold 3,719 cars in the US.

So far this year the Giulia has 6,362 sales, up 83%, while the Stelvio has 5,769 sales, but as yet has no comparison data from last year. The rest of Alfa Romeo’s sales come from the 4C, with 134 units, that's down 45% on the same period last year.

While Alfa Romeo is enjoying accelerating sales in the US the Fiat brand continues to go the other way and its sales fell 36% and eight hundred units to 1,426 units during June.

All Fiat's models suffered falls and as usual the the stock 500 hatchback model was the big loser as its demand fell 64% and more than six hundred units to 354 units during June. The rest of the 500 'family' members were also down, albeit enjoying smaller year-on-year falls than the base model; the 500L was down 15% to 157 units while the 500X lost 7% to 514 units. Finally, the 124 Spider also shed 21% of its sales year-on-year to finish June on 401 units.

For the year-to-date Fiat is down in the US by six thousand four hundred units and 44% to 8,285 units. The 500 has lost 70% of its sales year-on-year for the first six months to rest on 2,262 units. The 500L is the only winner so far this year as it's up 21% to 904 units.

The other two models on sale in the US have also lost ground for the first half of the year, the 500X is down 19% to 3,980 units while the 124 Spider has lost a quarter of its sales to rest on 1,894 units.

In total FCA sold 202,264 cars in the US last month counting in its four local brands and that was up 8% year-on-year with Jeep up 19% to 86,989 units, Ram up 6% to 51,729 units and Dodge up 9% to 46,387 units while Chrysler 's sales were down a third to 13,484 units.

For the year-to-date FCA has sold 1,115,476 cars in the US, up 5% on the first six months of last year, with the biggest chunk of its sales, 495,022 units, coming from the Jeep brand has enjoyed a 22% year-on-year rise in demand.
