Lamborghini Squadra Corse has revealed photos and details of a dramatic new Aventador-based project that it’s dubbed as the “SC18”, which becomes the first one-off car to be built for a customer in the history of the company’s motorsport division.

This heavily reworked Aventador includes an extreme aerodynamic package that incorporates many features drawn from the Huracán racecars and well as the use of lighter body materials and a tuned-up version of the 6.5-litre V12 engine.

The unique sportscar, which the company says was developed together with the customer's input and its in-house design department, Centro Stile Lamborghini, is also road use approved but has been designed primarily to go on the racetrack.

The SC18 project clearly opens the door to a new direction and Lamborghini says to expect further personalised development projects for motorsport customers under the Squadra Corse brand.

The Aventador project features more extreme aerodynamics, developed specifically for this model and derived from Lamborghini Squadra Corse’s experience in competition.

The racing elements start from the front hood, with air intakes in the style of the Huracán GT3 EVO while the sides and rear feature fenders, fins and air scoops are inspired by the Huracán Super Trofeo EVO.

The aerodynamic system is completed by a large carbon fibre wing with three mechanical adjustments, able to generate the optimal downforce on any circuit.

In addition, the twelve air intakes formed on the rear hood – a solution that has already been tested successfully in endurance races – increase heat exchange and improve the cooling of the V12 engine.

The powertrain is top-of-the-line Lamborghini delivers the performance of a racing car as the aspirated 6498 cm3 V12 has been tuned to deliver maximum power of 770 hp at 8,500 rpm and peak torque of 720 Nm at 6,750 rpm, which is all handled via the ISR (Independent Shifting Rod) seven-speed gearbox.

The new power is combined with a reduced weight that has been attained due to the use of ultralight materials and the new carbon fibre bodywork along with a ground clearance of just 109 mm. The rear is characterised by the specific exhausts and terminals with a unique design and sound.

The exclusiveness of the SC18 is underlined by the colour of the carbon fibre body in the Grigio Daytona (grey), with visible details and red screen-printing to enhance its sportiness. The cockpit features interiors in Nero Ade (black) Alcantara with cross-stitching in Rosso Alala (red), and carbon fibre bucket seats.

The look is completed by the single locking nut wheels that are 20-inch at the front and 21-inch the rear, with specially developed Pirelli P Zero Corsa tyres and a telemetry system to measure all aspects of performance on the track.
