new models: Fiat Stilo Abarth Rally

Fiat Stilo Abarth Rally
The Fiat Stilo Abarth Rally made its debut at the 2001 Bologna Motor Show.

The car is derived from the Stilo 1.8 16v version and has been revised to meet international FIA Group N standards.

These are the main changes. The engine power of 1747 cc has been increased from its initial value of 133 bhp to 157 bhp, developed at 6900 rpm. The transmission system now consists of a single-plate metal-ceramic clutch while the gearbox is still the standard 5-speed (plus reverse) unit with the addition of frontal engagement and closer ratios. The laminar differential is self-locking.

The suspension has also been modified in some of its parts and can come in two configurations: one for asphalt and the other for unsurfaced roads. The Bilstein dampers and Eibach springs with height-adjustable shims at the front are racing-specific.

The light alloy wheels are 7x17" (for asphalt) and 6x15" (for unsurfaced roads).

The braking system consists of self-ventilated front discs and standard rear discs with a driver-controlled pressure regulator. The handbrake is hydraulic.

The Stilo Abarth Rally body comes with a roll-bar and homologated FIA cage, fire extinguisher system, racing seats, 5-point seat-belts and battery disconnector. All components meet current rally racing requirements.
