11.07.2001  FIAT ANNOUNCE REORGANISATION OF SPORTING ACTIVITIES

The sharehloding is made up of Mario Sipsz ( 40% ), Andrea de Adamich ( 40% ) and Fiat Auto Spa ( 20% ).

structure & history:

n-technology was formed on 1th July 2001 to manage and carry out all competition activities for Fiat Auto. It combines all the structures, resources, technical and sporting heritage of Fiat Auto Attivita Sportiva with Team Nordauto.

The new company boasts a workforce of 161 people spread between three plants: Chivasso near Turin, Arese near Milan and Malagnino near Cremona.

The headquarters is at Chivasso. They incorporate all the previous design, development and management structures of Fiat Auto's sporting operations in a 6,400m² covered facility. This includes general technical, sporting and management offices; large research & development facilities; as well as production, testing and mechanical engineering workshops. Adjacent to the facility is a dedicated 3,830m test track.

The Arese department, based at the old Alfa Romeo factory, has a 2,965m² covered facility which undertakes all engine design, development, assembly and testing. Lastly at Malagnino is the headquarters of Team Nordauto which manages the race teams.

n-technology's immediate brief is the development and running of the Nordauto Alfa Romeo 156's taking part in the European Touring Car Championship under the factory banner. It will develope new rally versions of the Fiat Punto and Stilo due at the end of the year. n-technology will also undertake development work for Alfa Romeo 147s and 156s running to varying national touring car regulations in Europe as well as developing cars for the Italian Alfa 147 Cup, and an evolved race-pure 147 for next years Dutch Pearle Alfa 147 Challenge.

n-technology took over all activities on the 1st July.
