>>> 27th Bologna Motor Show Preview:  Lancia Lybra

This new version has been created for those who wish to add a touch of originality and class to this already stylish model, with details reminiscent of great cars of the past. You can see at a glance, for example, that the Lybra Emblema is related to the Flaminia Coupé of 1963: that unmistakable two-tone body, those seats in soft tobacco-covered leather. In brief: a legend forty years on.

The Lancia Lybra Emblema is thus a car of character that combines the lauded style of the original model with a refined touch of eccentricity. Beginning with the black roof that stands out against the body shade (this option is exclusive to the Station Wagon version). This decisive stamp continues along the rear to blend with the darkened rear screen and rear side windows. These Privacy windows ensure greater protection for passengers and hide the luggage compartment from prying eyes in the case of the station wagon.

Inside, the Lybra Emblema offers seats trimmed with two-tone effect soft leather (standard equipment in Italy) or Alcantara®. In both cases, these are in a brand-new tobacco colour, the same shade used for the mats, door trim and lower facia paintwork. Apart from the originality of its trim, the striking things about the Lancia Lybra Emblema are the interior components (console, facia panels and door mouldings) and the magnesium effect that, as on the Thesis, creates a pleasing cold/warm contrast with the trim shades. The dial surrounds and door handles are chrome plated.

These, in a nutshell, are distinctive traits of the Lancia Lybra Emblema that give the model even greater kinship to the exclusive Thesis and Phedra. The Emblema name has already been used to describe the more comprehensive specification levels of recent Lancia models and now the Lybra is benefiting from the same treatment.
All this sophistication convinced the great artist and fashion designer René Gruau to add his name and international renown to the advertising campaign for the new version. The car also offers a generous standard equipment package: Dual-zone climate control system, Bose Sound System, front airbags, sidebags and window bags, new 16-inch alloy wheels treated with pale metalluro. Plus the following options: Satellite Navigation System, GSM phone, rain and demisting sensor, Cruise Control, ABS with EBD (the latter comes as standard on the 2.0 petrol and 2.4 JTD version).

The vehicle is available as a saloon and Station Wagon with three engines: the 81 kW (110 bhp) 1.9 JTD and the 110 kW (150 bhp) 2.4 JTD, both with Common Rail direct injection and the petrol-driven 110 kW (150 bhp) 2.0 five cylinder 20v. Customers can also choose the exterior colour of their Lybra Emblema from a palette that includes three different shades of grey and the exclusive Perugino green inspired by Lancia cars of the Sixties.
