29.05.2003  LAMBORGHINI POWERED 'SPIRIT OF NORWAY' WINS OFFSHORE POWERBOAT LISBON GRAND PRIX


The first round of the Superfund Offshore Class 1 ends with Spirit of Norway’s victory, a boat powered Lamborghini.

The start of the 2003 Superfund Class 1 World Powerboat Championship, World Offshore Championship, has once again been successful for a Motori Marini Lamborghini powered and assisted boat. 

The official Lamborghini “Spirit of Norway” boat, World Champion in the 2002 season captured its victory at the “Lisbon Grand Prix” which was held on Sunday 25 May in Portuguese waters. 

In the final classification, “Spirit of Norway”, driven by Bjorn Gielsten and Steve Curtis, preceded the “Highlander” powerboat, driven by Edoardo Polli and Lamberto Leoni, and the “Maritimo” powerboat, driven by Bill Barry-Cotter and Peter McGrath, both equipped with the powerful and reliable 12- cylinder, 8.2 litre engine by the famous Italian brand.
