24.09.2003 ALFA ROMEO CONSIDERING AN OPEN VERSION OF 8C COMPETIZIONE

Alfa Romeo are actively considering an open-topped version of their exciting new '8c Competizione' sportscar concept. Delighted by the response to their Porsche 911-targeting sportscar, they are evaluating a roofless version. According to Alfa Romeo business unit boss Daniele Bandiera, a full size model at Centro Style is literally having the roof chopped at present off to give the 8c's design team an ideal of how a 'roadster' would look.

Boosted by the attention the 420bhp 4.2-litre V8 rear wheel drive sportscar received on its debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show earlier this month, Centro Style are busy improving the original concept and a revised 8c may even appear as soon as next month's Tokyo Motor Show.
