26.07.2003  FIA GT CHAMPIONSHIP ROUND 6: CARE RACING WITHDRAW TO ALLOW BMS ITALIA CREW TO TAKE OVER FERRARI


After the crash yesterday which badly damaged the no 23 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 Maranello, there have been a number of changes to the line-up.  The no 21 Care Racing Ferrari 550 Maranello will not take part in the race, and Jean-Marc Gounon, due to drive the car, has been released from his contract.

He will now join Creation Autosportif as a fourth and reserve driver, alongside Bobby Verdon Roe, who starts the race, Marco Zadra and Duncan Huisman.

The no 14 Lister Storm, which will start the race at the back of the grid, was able to take to the track again in the warm-up, the team having finished the work shortly before the start of the session.   The car will be driven by Campbell-Walter, who will start the race, Kinch, Schirle and Tom Coronel, who rejoins the team.


The no23 BMS Scuderia Italia Ferrari 550 returns to the pits after a huge accident caused by the throttle sticking open, ultimately attempts to repair it overnight were unscuccessful
