| Making its debut at the 2002
Geneva Motor Show is this exciting new Alfa Romeo-badged concept car from
ItalDesign. Although a concept car, the Brera, is designed and
engineered to standards that make production a viable
proposition.
It has been designed to a current brief
for a rear wheel drive GT car based on a proposed Ferrari developed all
new Alfa Romeo 4-litre plus V8 powerplant. It is based on a Maserati
chassis and fitted with a Ferrari 360 Modena sourced V8 engine. The
front-mounted engine has been located towards the centre of the car for
optimum weight distribution. ItalDesign have aimed to build on the classic
2+2 GT concept to come up with a design that incorporates all the latest
design techniques and technology, including incorporating carbon-fibre
bodywork. |
