Saturday morning saw the Ferrari Challenge provide some exciting racing, with the Shell Cup cars on track. Eight of the top contenders from the 2002 series
raced two at a time in a non-stop programme, which also included practice and qualifying sessions, leading to races, semi-finals and finals. Each event consisted of
two legs run to an elimination format. In the end, victory went to the Ineco team’s Peter Reichegger, followed by team mate Glauco Solieri, with Team Forza’s Cristian Franceson third. 

Sunday afternoon inside the arena, packed full of spectators, saw the Ferrari Challenge-Pirelli Trophy 360 Modenas, first complete its quarter finals, then the semifinals, which were won respectively by Stefano Livio ( Team Forza ) and Nicola Gianniberti. Overall victor of the final was 26-year-old Nicola Gianniberti ( DR Sportequipe ) from Piacenza, who comfortably beat Stefano Livio. Meanwhile, the third place run-off, saw Daniele Medici unable to keep with the pace of Samuele Baldan ( Team Maranello ).

Sunday afternoon also saw the finals of the SuperTouring 2000 Challenge which involved cars and competitors from this year's European Touring Car Championship. Eventual victory went to Nicola Larini who beat his sometime team mate Roberto Colciago. Both in identical Nordauto Alfa Romeo 156 GTA's were able to give expression to the noteworthy potential of these cars. For third and fourth place, Gianluca De Lorenzi ( BMW E46 320i ) and Salvatore Tavano ( Honda Civic Type R ) battled it out, third place on the podium finally going to De Lorenzo after two very balanced heats. 

After free trial were carried out with the new Alfa 147GTA, the 147GTA VIP race was run. The protagonists of this spectacular double challenge were a motorcyclist and three race car drivers.  The motorcyclist Loris Capirossi and Brazilian Ferrari F1 test driver Luciano Burti were joined by the Nordauto Alfa Romeo team mates Nicola Larini and Roberto Colciago who were pitted against each other. In the Caprirossi-Burti dual, the Brazilian Ferrari test driver prevailed, overtaking the strong resistance of the motorcyclist during the third lap, while between Larini and Colciago the former won, dominating from the moment of the green light on.
