06.09.2002  FIRST FERRARI SHOP OPENS AT BOLOGNA AIRPORT

The latest step in Ferrari's plan to maximise the valuve of their brand took place yesterday when their first retail shop was opened at the G.Marconi Airport in Bologna, Italy. It is expected that further retail outlets, operating on a franchise basis, will be opened at other airports and exclusive retail areas.

The opening ceremony was a high profile affair, the ceremonial ribbon being cut by Ferrari's current Formula 1 drivers, recently crowned World Drivers Champion Michael Schumacher and team mate Rubens Barrichello. They were joined by the airport's managing director, Alberto Clo, and Ferrari's Director of Licencing and Merchandising, Alberto Crippa.

The store is situated in an ideal location on the first floor of the Bologna Airport terminal, in the public shopping complex.
