| This year the Alfa Romeo
importer in Germany is running an eight round race series for Alfa 147
1.9JTD versions, known as the Alfa 147 Cup. Unusually for a race car the
JTD common-rail diesel unit is being used. However the importer believe
that this series will amply confirm the power and versatility of the JTD
range, as a sporting and high-performing alternative to the petrol engines.
The 1.9JTD in road trim produces
115bhp, however the 5-cylinder engine has been tweaked for the Cup and
puts out 160bhp. 36 of these 147s, which cost €50,000 each have turned
out for the series. |
